Irene Estelle Rivinius was born in Rocklake, North Dakota on April 26, 1918. Irene passed away on January 13, 2011 in Sacramento. Irene attended Jamestown College in North Dakota on an academic scholarship. She moved to California with her husband Harry, who also attended Jamestown College on an athletic scholarship, in 1942. Irene was the consummate volunteer, serving as president of Escalon and Stockton Garden Clubs, holding local statewide offices in Eastern Star, which granted her a lifetime membership for 50 years of service, and chairing the stockton Symphony League in 1975. Predeceased by husband Harry and second husband Lee Shaw, sisters Mary and Ruth, brother Ole. She is survived by sister Helen of Portland, Oregon and daughter Nancy O'Neill (Joe), son Robert Rivinius (Chrys); grandchildren Gay, Robert, David, and Nicole; two great grandchildren, and Christian and Linda Boss. Irene was a loving mother and friend and will be missed by all who knew her. Services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday at Rocha's Funeral Chapel, 215 S. School Street, Lodi, CA and internment will be at Lodi Memorial Cemetery.
