Obituary of Jerry Ellis Gregg

Jerry Ellis Gregg age 74 of Lodi went to be with our lord on July 22, 2011. Jerry was born August 3, 1936 to Ellis and Juanita Gregg in Akron Ohio. Jerry was in the air force in 1953 upon his return moved to St. Petersburg Florida. Jerry met the love of his life Shirley Martin Case in Pinellas Park Florida in 1963. They married November 7, 1964 and moved to California in 1965 where they have spent the last 46 years happily married. Jerry worked as a plasterer, Holz rubber supervisor, owned Jerlee Poodle salon in Lodi. He also worked as an assistant to Dr. Carlton and Lodi Veterinary hospital. Jerry later moved on to Kaitz property service as a manager and maintenance supervisor and retired in 2000, during his time with Kaitz. Jerry was a partner with son Jay Gregg at Mid-Cal Inc. Jerry was a loving and caring person who was what his family would call a social butterfly within our community. Jerry was extremely talented and enjoyed hobbies such as flying, fishing, camping, spending time with his adorable pet Charlie, and grandchildren and family. Jerry was infectious and people loved being around him and his vibrant personality. His strength and wisdom touched all of our hearts. He was courageous and inspirational. Jerry was preceded in death by parents Ellis and Juanita Gregg, sister Auldine, brothers Dwayne, Warren and Kenny Gregg. Surviving is wife Shirley Gregg of Lodi. Son Jerry Gregg II (Jay) (Barbara of Florida), Daughter Marcie Witt (Terry) of Lodi, Son Gary Case (Penny) of Woodbridge, 4 Grandchildren Dinah Witt, Vanessa Maes (Brandon), Sean Case, and Jacob Gregg. 2 Great grandchildren Joseph Rineheart and Elizabeth Case. The family would like to thank wine country care home and Hospice for the loving care of Jerry husband, father and grandfather through the last few years. Rocha's Mortuary will be assisting family in arrangements. Family would like donations to be made to Asera Care Hospice or Alzheimer's foundation. Memorial Services will be held Thursday September 1st 2011 at 2:30pm at Rocha's Mortuary.
