Obituary of Betty Ann Grenko

Betty was born in Lodi, Ca to Lydia and Herbert Reimche on August 5, 1924. She passed away in Lodi on July 26, 2011. Betty attended local grammar schools then graduated from Lodi High School in 1942. In her youth, she worked as a cook in her father's business, the Rex Pool Hall in Lodi. Following high school she worked in the clerical field in the Stockton area. In 1951, she met Frank Grenko, who was then a captain in the United States Air Force. Living the military career life, Betty and Frank resided in various states around the country until retirement in 1966. Betty and Frank moved back to Lodi, where she lived the rest of her life. Betty was a homemaker who loved national and international travel. European vacations with her family were often remembered has her most memorable trips. Betty also enjoyed camping and with it, driving their motor home to favorite destinations. Betty is survived by her husband, Frank Grenko of Lodi; her son, Frank, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Carol Grenko; and grand-daughter, Alexis Grenko, all of Woodbridge. Betty is also survived by a niece, Marianne Grenko-Wintersteen of Lockport, Illinois, along with Marianne's family, Gary, Scott and Ross Wintersteen. The Grenko family wishes to thank all of the doctors and staff who treated Betty over the years, as well as the wonderful caretakers at the Vienna Convalescent Hospital and Arbor Nursing Center. Special thanks goes to the staff of Chancellor Place Lodi for their years of dedicated, compassionate, care. The family also wishes to recognize Hospice of San Joaquin for their amazing presence. Betty's final resting place will be Lodi Memorial Park and Cemetery. Rocha's Mortuary is assisting with the funeral arrangements. There is no visitation and the committal will be private.
