Obituary of Ina Marie Boyer (Coe)

Ina Marie (Coe)Boyer passed December 1, 2013 Born to Zita Flanagan Coe and Arthur J. Coe Jr. April 19, 1926 in Spokane, WA, welcomed by two sisters Cora & Zona. After Ina's birth the family returned to the Lodi area where the Coe family had settled in 1902. Ina attended local schools graduating from Lodi High School with the class of 1944. After receiving her AA from College of the Pacific she went to live and work in San Francisco. There she met her "Bell-Bottom" love and they married at St. Anthony of Padua Church in New Orleans, LA on Aug. 6, 1948. After serving 26 years in the U.S. Navy Harvey Sr. retired and the family relocated to Lodi. Ina was credited with saying "Navy Wife, toughest job in the Navy! Even as a working mother Ina's five children were her center of life. She served as a Den Mother for her sons in Oakland, CA and a Brownie leader for her daughter with Tierro del Oro in Lodi. As a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church, Ina served over 20 years in the CCD program as a Catechist. Upon receiving her certification in Pastoral Theology from USF, Ina then served the Diocese of Stockton as a Master Catechist. She also enjoyed ministry as a communion Server, Lector, Dust Angel and served a term as Chancellor for the Daughter of Isabella, Circle 1332. Ina's past employment included Comptometer Operator, Head cashier, school secretary in Olathe, Kan., Yard duty and lunch supervisor at Hollywood Beach School in Oxnard, CA, and Secretary for St. Anne's Church. She retired from Lodi Unified School District in 1994 as a Typist Clerk at Lodi High School. Ina's school years included employment at Sprouse Ritz Store in Lodi, summers working in Aptos, CA for Western Frozen Foods and the Cannery in Santa Cruz, CA. Ina is preceded in death by her mother Zita, infant sister Susan, father, Arthur J. Coe, Jr., and second Mom Faye Wilson Coe, son Kip Paul and brother, Jim Coe. Survived by her husband Harvey V. Boyer, Sr. Sons, Harvey Jr. (Beverly), James (Kay), Lee (Barbara), daughter Michelle Hoskins (Glenn) five granddaughters: Breane, Brittany and Larissa, Susan and Kristi. Four Grandsons, Danny, Christopher, Robert and "JJ". Two greatgrandsons, Erik and Andrew. Aunt Beverly Manfre, San Jose, CA and numerous Coe and Wilson Cousins. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Anne's Catholic Church 215 W. Walnut St. Lodi CA on December 5, 2013, at 10:30 am. with a reception to follow in St. Anne's Hall. Inurnment will be private, Memorial Donations may be made to St. Anne's Church Plaza, 215 W. Walnut Lodi Ca , the Dialysis Unit at Lodi Memorial Hospital 975
