Donald E. Netherda, 83 of Woodbridge passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2014. Don was born to parents, Clarence and Alma Netherda in Lake Andes, South Dakota on May 13, 1931. He served in the United States Air Force from 1951 through 1955. Donald studied at the University of Washington where he earned his bachelor's degree. He married Patricia L. Patton on September 21, 1957 in Seattle, Washington. They came to California where he was a tire salesman in Daly City, Eureka and Sunnyvale until he and his wife and his father-in-law, Sam Patton, purchased the Tire Exchange in Placerville which they operated for 30 years. In 1996 they moved to Woodbridge to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Mr. Netherda was a member of Placerville Masonic Lodge # 26 F& AM, Lodi American Legion Post # 22, where he was a life member, and he was a past member and Past President of the local chapter of Rotary International. He loved the Dallas Cowboys and was passionate about all things "Cowboys". Donald is survived by his wife of almost 57 years, Patricia Netherda of Woodbridge, daughter, Shawn(David) Lord of Linden, Son, Mark ( Paula) Netherda of Santa Rosa, grandchildren, Meghan Lord of Lodi, Jacquelyn Lord of Santa Cruz, Erin Netherda of Montana, Alexander and Spencer Netherda of Santa Rosa, sisters, Darlene Sheridan of Colorado, Belva Meanor of Palm Desert, Carol Jones of Washington, brothers, Sam Netherda of Placerville and Elwyn (Butch) Netherda of Washington. He was preceded in death by a sister, Marlys Enes. No services are planned at this time and the family requests that memorials be made to the donor's choice.
