Dearest Ray, You will be missed by all of us whose lives you have touched. I have never known a more gentle, loving, and kind man yet strong when it was needed, like fighting in the war or ensuring your children were taken care of to the best of your ability. While we who are left behind, are missing and grieving your loss, there is also joy in knowing you are again with Providence and all those family members who have gone on before you. I'm pretty sure my Terry and Auntie Ag's Jim met you at heavens gate to welcome you in, the three brother-in-laws reunited again telling all those funny and silly stories. What a lovely day in heaven that must have been! I also pray for my nieces and nephew, may God's loving arms be wrapped tightly around you all, and may you find comfort and peace there, knowing that your dad is also at peace in God's loving arms. Jesus will be walking with you through the hard and sad days that have begun just as He is walking with your dad beyond heaven's gate. I love you so much and want you to know my thoughts, love and prayers are with you. Grieve like you must but also be filled with joy knowing you had such a sweet and good man who loved and guided you, who cared for you and helped you, and most of all taught you to be the wonderful, loving people you are today! That is and will always be your dad's greatest gift. Love always, Auntie Linda

Dad was truly an amazing person. He probably was the quietist person in the house, but his presence was strong. He was always there. Dad was always willing to offer a helping hand, I don't ever remember him turning anyone down when they needed help and he always got the job done, he seemed tireless. He was a strong man in heart, body and soul. I don't ever remember him saying a bad thing about anyone. He always found the good in everyone. Dad was also a great story teller, he would always tell stories about his childhood and they were always the positive stories about his childhood, about riding his bike all over town and how he was always crashing, but he always managed to walk away, and the story about the cat in the mailbox, us kids loved that story. Dad didn't talk to much about the negative things, just like in people, he always tried to find and focus on the positive things in his own life as well. I am very thankful that he was my dad and the grandfather to my children, he was always a positive role model to us all. He was someone that we could all look up to and I hope that we can all aspire to be more like. What a wonderful example he was, of a loving, gentle, kind hearted person. He will be truly missed but I know that if heaven could be an even happier place then it already is, then Dad brought a whole bunch more happiness there. Love you Dad, You will never be forgotten, until we meet again, Love always, your daughter, Mary

Dad's Service to our country
61 years ago today, September 18, 1952 my dad was discharged from the U.S. Army. He proudly served in Okinawa Japan then in the Korean War. He was in the 50th Engineer Port Construction Co. His unit was right behind the combat marines. He crossed the Pacific 6 times during this time. He experienced things he never talked about and some things that took him 50 years to talk about. He received The Korean Service Medal with 3 bronze stars and the UN Service medal. I think that anyone who met him knew he was truly one of the sweetest, kindest man you could know but He was also a strong, brave and patriotic man who stood up for what he thought was right.
