Obituary of Raymond B. Slaviero

Raymond "Ray" Slaviero, 83, of Lockeford, died Sept. 15. He was born on Feb 10, 1930 in Oakland.Mr. Slaviero served in the U.S. Army where he received the Korean Service Medal with three Bronze Stars and the United Nations Service Medal. He worked as a groundskeeper for both the City of Concord and City of Stockton before retiring. He enjoyed spending time with his family, writing letters and poetry. He collected postage stamps and military patches.He is survived by his daughters, Diana Casillas, Barbara Obenshain, Carol Coleman and Mary Slaviero; son, Bill Slaviero; sisters, Lucille Medeiros and Rena Marundee; nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Providence Slaviero; and one grandchild.A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Lodi Memorial Park & Cemetery, 5750 E. Pine St., with Pastor Tim Stevenson of Horizon Community Church officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Rocha's Mortuary 215 S.
